About the Author
Karen Kawamoto McCoy grew up in twin Falls, Idaho. Her hometown was too small to have its own Obon festival. Now, as an author, she writes about Asian American cultural experiences and celebrations so that children everywhere (even in small towns) can appreciate these Asian American cultural events. Karen lives in Wooster, Ohio with her husband Ed and son Kevin. Besides writing, she enjoys reading and doing school visits.
