About the Author
In addition to Ashok By Any Other Name, Sandra S. Yamate is also the author of Char Siu Bao Boy and the editor, as well as one of the contributing authors, of the anthology, Children of Asian America. She has taught classes and courses on Asian American issues and literature at several universities. She is also the author of a number of articles and a frequent lecturer about multicultural, particularly Asian American, children’s literature and its effective use in education. She works actively within the Asian American community, serving on the boards of a number of community-based organizations, both locally and nationally. She and her husband reside in Chicago. |
